Studio Display

About
Current 2026 Apple Studio Display with a 27-inch 5K Retina display, 600 nits brightness, P3 wide color, updated 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View, six-speaker Spatial Audio system, two Thunderbolt 5 ports, two USB-C ports, and 96W host charging.
Should you buy it?
The Studio Display is Apple's 27-inch 5K monitor for Mac. Its 5120 × 2880 panel has 218 pixels per inch, so macOS draws text at a sharp 2x scale with a 2560 × 1440 workspace. Most 27-inch 4K monitors are about 163 PPI and need a scaled mode.
One Thunderbolt cable carries video, data, and 96W of charging to a MacBook. The display also has a 12MP Center Stage camera, six speakers, and extra USB-C ports, so it can replace a dock, a webcam, and desk speakers.
It runs at 60Hz and does not support HDR. If you want a higher refresh rate or HDR for video work, look at the Studio Display XDR.
